Is there any advantage to selling on the weekly momentum advice if you have the same stock in your monthly portfolio?

Hello,

No, we have never made a study about the impact of weekly sell orders applied to our monthly portfolios.

The main reason is that the monthly portfolios are designed to generate less transactions, less often, that the weekly version of the same portfolio.
Selling weekly in the monthly portfolio would then help to sell faster the stocks that do no meet our criteria anymore for sure, but if it is to get a faster refresh of the portfolio, why not use the weekly version then?

Have you tried yourself this strategy? If yes, do you find the monthly portfolio's return improved?

The weekly version has too many orders especially odd-lot orders.

If it is the same criteria for weekly and monthly portfolios, then selling on weekly would not generate any more orders and I would be out quicker.

I have not researched this but it seems like a good way to go.

Hello,

This is indeed something you try for yourself but I foresee the following issue:

At each monthly update, the portfolio is reloaded with fresh stocks.
Then, each week, depending on the weekly sell updates, some stocks are sold. And it is very likely that after 2 or 3 weeks, you will be left with a few stocks or no stock at all.

You have then to be prepared to that case.
